Description
This declassified 1943 history of the 182nd Infantry covers most of 1941 and 1942. The first page of the report details the pre-war organization of the unit, as well as its size: 1164 enlisted men, 1 warrant officer, and 94 officers. Monthly additions and subtractions of men show a dramatic change in size, with 1311 new soldiers by April 1st, and another 693 by February 1st. The regiment more than doubled in size with the addition of draftees prior to departing for the Pacific.
